“Kumana National Park” Polythene Removal Program

Posted in

After the ‘Pada Yatra’ Season we have planned to clean all the Plastic, Polyethylene inside and along the border of the Kumana National Park. 30 Students of the Young Zoologist’ Association participated for this event. We all know that after the season it becomes a peaceful paradise for wild animals. We were informed by the Department of Wild Life that lots of wild animals died consuming Polythene.

We conducted the second step of the project from 22nd to 24th October 2012, in collaboration with Dialog Axiata PLC (Sri Lanka’s largest telecommunications service supplier)
